What is Automated Market Making (AMM)?
Automated Market Making (AMM) is a model that calculates bid and ask prices according to an automated formula to provide a continuous quote to the market. CoinEx combines AMM with order book for trading mechanism and the system will automatically convert liquidity pool into order book.
CoinEx AMM allows any user to become a market maker. By adding liquidity to the liquidity pool, users can share in the trading fees earned by the platform.
Introduction to the AMM . algorithm
CoinEx applies the “constant product market formula” algorithm in AMM, which means that when adding liquidity to the liquidity pool, the user has to provide two different assets and the quantity of the two will not change.
There are two algorithms adopted by CoinEx: One is the “Infinite Constant Product Market Making Formula” algorithm, which is featured in providing company liquidity to the market regardless of order book size. or how small the liquidity pool is, mainly applied in the normal market (e.g. CET/USDT).
The other is the “Finite Constant Product Market Generation Formula” algorithm that improves the utilization rate of funds and brings solid liquidity to the market within a certain price range, which is mainly applied used in the stablecoin market (e.g. USDC/USDT).
Fees and Revenue
CoinEx AMM's revenue mainly comes from transaction fee dividends allocated by the platform. Users who provide pool liquidity will receive 50% or more (100% for all CET trading AMM markets) of the transaction fees generated in the pool. The revenue is calculated once a day and by the next day it will be automatically deposited into the MM (Market Maker) account. Accumulated revenue can be received when withdrawing liquidity.
